Here is a brief list of things you will need for the trek

Back pack,Day pack, sleeping bags (we have for hire at USD20 per day per person), Inflating pad ,gaiters to keep boots dry and rocks out of boots , A good pair of comfortable walking boots which are reasonably stiff,
Other shoes which have plenty of ankle support. [Sneakers at the campsite],hard shell jacket with hood breathable with front zip ,insulated down jacket with hood medium to heavy weight,synthetic soft shell jacket,synthetic pants if can be removed while wearing shoes the better , hard shell pants-water proof , soft shell pants ,Trekking pants 3 pairs ,warm woolen socks 5 pairs , Liner socks- they caution against blisters ,
A spare set of warm clothes e.g. fleece jackets , Shirts nylon material if available , 2 Water bottles , head lamp with spare batteries , balaclava ,warm wool hat light and should cover ears ,light weight synthetic gloves water proof 2 pairs , Hard shell mitts 1 pair should fit inside gloves ,
Items necessary to protect you from the sun. [Sun glasses] , Hat or cap synthetic dries quickly ,bandana shades your neck ,sun scream 2 tubes SPF 30 or above, not more than 6 months older may loose its SPF rating ,lip screen SPF 30 or above ,hiking poles ,sports drink mix-powdered electrolyte drink mix 1-2 servings per day for number of days in mountain ,water purification tablets,Hot water bottle , trash bags , trail snacks with carbohydrates for energy especially the summit, toiletry bag for keeping-wet wipes, tooth brush, hand sanitary ,personal first aid kit with small bandages, pain killers ,head lamp

Kindly note that we always   organize a meeting at least 2   weeks   before  the  climb   so the guide can brief you on whats expected of you as   well  as   advise  you  on  dos   and   donts  .

Day 1: Nairobi/Sirimon/Old Moses Camp 3-4 hrs, 9km, 860m ascent .

Leave Nairobi at 7.30am to Nanyuki town for lunch, taking about 4 hours. Proceed to Sirimon Gate, 1 hr, 2440m. From the gate follow the track as it winds uphill through the forest which becomes heath land after about 3 hrs. About 3½ hours from the gate the track veers right to Old Moses Camp, 3300m for dinner and overnight

Day 2: Old Moses Camp/Shipton Camp 6-7hrs, 17km, 900m ascent.

After breakfast, follow the track uphill, forking left at the junction. After one hour from Old Moses Camp, the track crosses Ontulili River. Go right contouring through the Moorland and crossing Liki North and continue uphill to Mackinders Valley from where there are panoramic views up the valley towards the main peaks. Dinner and overnight at Shipton Camp, 4200m

Day 3: Acclimitization Day

Spend the day acclimatizing. Walk to Kami Hut down to Hauseberg Lakes (Hauseberg Tarn and Nanyuki Tarn). Walk back to Shipton for dinner and overnight..

Day 4: Shiptons/Point Lenana/Mount Meru Bandas (Chogoria Gate) 11-12hrs, 32km, 785m ascent

Leave at 3am up a steep stony quarry that cuts through a cliff clearing visible part towards lower Hall Tarns arriving Mount Kenya point Lenana (6km from Shipton Camp) at 6:30am, taking about 3hrs. After the sunrise, descend down to Mintos hut (6km), 2hrs, for breakfast and 20km, 4-5hrs further down to Mount Meru Bandas, 2950m, for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chogoria Bandas/Chogoria/Nairobi. Descend 2hr,

Walk  for  15km to forest clearance to catch a 4×4  transfer vehicle to Chogoria Village where you will connect with your transfer vehicle back to Nairobi. On  arrival  you  wil  be dropped  off  outside  680 Hotel for  your   further travel  arrangements.
