The hyena is a powerful predator that tends to hunt on human beings especially when food is scarce. The spotted and stripped hyena species are the great threats to human beings. They attack humans that are mostly hurt, sick or incapacitated. They target women, children and infirm men. They are bolder at night. Hyenas are well known as scavengers but they also hunt prey on their own.
