Baboons are omnivorous mammals with five different species. They are terrestrial spending most of their time on the ground. They also climb trees to sleep and eat. They feed on fruits ,seeds, grasses, barks, roots and meat. They live in troops and use different sounds to communicate. They adapt easily. They sleep, travel, feed and socialize together in groups of about 50 individuals.
The baboons have sharp canine teeth, close-set eyes, short tails and rough spots on the protruding buttock called ischial callosities. The calluses are nerveless, hairless pads of skin that provide sitting comfort of baboon. The adults rise in the morning to have a mutual grooming session while juveniles play. They then set off in columns to start looking for food.
