Day 1: Fly Nairobi to Kimana Amboseli

You will board your flight to Kimana airstrip early in the morning, landing at the private airstrip nestled within the Sanctuary, offering a first glimpse of the lush fever tree forest and Mount Kilimanjaro towering in the distance. Upon landing, you will be warmly greeted by your guide, who will escort you to the lodge, just a short 5-minute drive away.

After a warm welcome, enjoy a leisurely breakfast with breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, the tour of the property begins with a visit to the Studios (Photographic Studio, Safari Shop, Weaving Studio, Games Room and Gallery) and the swimming pool area. You will also be briefed on the variety of activities available, such as safaris, in-suite massages and more.

Settle into your luxurious Guest Suite and unpack before having lunch in the guest area. After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive through Kimana Sanctuary, with a chance to spot elephant herds and other wildlife. A sunset sundowner will be arranged, offering a toast to the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, followed by a return to the lodge for dinner. After a lovely meal, you can enjoy a nightcap under the stars at the Baraza before retreating to your suite to enjoy the tranquil Amboseli lullaby.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Amboseli National Park

Wake up to amazing views of Mount Kilimanjaro with the sun softly illuminating the slopes of Kilimanjaro from the foot of your bed offering a spectacular view.  After breakfast, depart on a full-day safari in Amboseli National Park.

Visit the Pinch Point, a crucial migration corridor for elephants and learn about the conservation efforts of the Big Life Foundation in the area. Explore the marshlands, the dry lake bed, and search for wildlife including elephants, hippos, flamingos and big cats.

Enjoy a picnic lunch with stunning views of the park. Return to the lodge in the afternoon and relax by the pool, indulge in an in-suite massage or explore the Studios. In the evening, enjoy a dinner under the stars in the outdoor dining garden.

Day 3: Guided Walking Safari

Embark on a guided walking safari through Kimana Sanctuary, experiencing the diverse flora and fauna up close. Enjoy a surprise picnic breakfast amidst the scenic surroundings. After the meal, the vehicle will take you back to the lodge, where you can unwind and take part in various in-camp activities. You may opt for a watercolor painting session, enjoy a massage, or explore the studios further.

Enjoy lunch at the lodge served by the swimming pool and spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. In the evening, enjoy an intimate dinner set up at the gallery, located in the studios, where you can take in the work of local artists.  If you are feeling adventurous, depart for a night game drive at 9:00 pm which will highlight the nocturnal creatures in the sanctuary as well as a littles lesson in stargazing.

Day 4: Fly back to Nairobi then fly to Maasai Mara

Enjoy a final leisure breakfast at the lodge very early in the morning, then depart for the airstrip and fly back to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Nairobi, you will enjoy relaxation at the airport lounge as you wait for your flight to Maasai Mara.

Board your mid - morning scenic flight from Nairobi to the exclusive Kichwa Tembo airstrip, where you'll be greeted by the stunning sight of the lodge’s iconic canvas flysheets, tucked into the forest at the edge of the world.

After transfer to the lodge and a warm Kenyan welcome, settle into your private tent and savor the panoramic views of the Maasai Mara sprawling below. Unpack and unwind with an ice-cold Tusker beer, enjoying the serene beauty of the landscape. After checking in enjoy a welcome lunch on the deck, followed by a refreshing gin and tonic with your camp host, discussing the day's activities and exploring the lodge's offerings.

If you're an avid photographer, take a quick visit to the Photographic Studio for tips on your camera settings and then meet your Safari Guide for an afternoon game drive in the Mara Triangle, searching for wildlife encounters. Return to the camp for a relaxing evening, enjoying pre-dinner cocktails and a delicious dinner served in a refined setting, with candlelight, starched linen and exquisite safari cuisine.

Day 5: Game Drive, Kopje Walk and Forest BBQ

Wake up to the stunning sunrise and the sight of hot air balloons drifting across the savanna. Enjoy an early morning game drive with packed safari breakfast, immersing yourself in the vibrant wildlife of the Mara.

Return to the lodge for a leisurely lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool, reading on your comfy red rocking chair on your guest tent’s deck or exploring the lodge library. Later, embark on a scenic walk up the kopje, a prominent hill offering panoramic views.

As the sun dips below the horizon, head to the Sundowner Boma for a toast with Pimm's or a Dawa cocktail. In the evening, experience the unique Angama Mara Forest BBQ, a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Day 6: Hot Air Balloon Safari and Garden-to-Fork Lunch

Begin your day with an extraordinary sunrise hot air balloon flight over the Maasai Mara, followed by a champagne breakfast in the heart of the reserve. Return to the lodge for a leisurely game drive, pre – lunch siesta or indulge in an in-room massage on your tent deck.

Later, visit the Shamba (kitchen garden), picking fresh herbs and vegetables for a delightful garden-to-fork lunch under the shade of moth trees. The leaves and vegetables which you have foraged are washed and readied for the freshest salads imaginable, paired with crusty bread, local cheese and chilled rosé wine. As the sun sets, enjoy a romantic private in-room dinner on your tent deck, captivated by the moon rising over the Maasai Mara.

Day 7: Full-Day Safari Adventure and Maasai Craft Experience

On this day, embark on a full-day-double picnic safari to the Tanzanian border. You’ll be treated to a delicious breakfast and lunch, both served in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but the beauty of the Mara. This is one of the most serene game drives of your safari.

Before dinner, you’ll visit the Beading Studio to meet the Maasai Mamas. Try your hand at creating your own piece of jewelry with guidance from the local artisans or commission a bespoke piece to take home as a memento of your trip.

In the evening, enjoy either a return to the Forest BBQ for a final dinner or opt for a quiet, intimate meal in the lodge’s guest area. Whatever you choose, the attentive team is always on hand to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.

Day 8: Fly to Nairobi

After breakfast check out and you will be transferred to Kichwa Tembo Airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi, reflecting on the incredible memories made over the past few days.  Upon arrival at Wilson Airport Nairobi you will be transferred to JKIA Airport for your flight home or Nairobi hotel as booked by yourselves.
